Votes on Iraq Yesterday
May 11, 2007
Dear Friend,

| Rep. James McGovern (D-MA) making a statement on the House floor yesterday. |
Yesterday was an important day.
A total of 171 House members voted for a prompt withdrawal from Iraq, a new high-water maker for strong anti-war sentiment.
As McGovern told Council for a Livable World this afternoon, "Last night's vote was a victory for those of us who want to bring an end to this awful war. 171 members of the House - including 2 Republicans - said 'enough is enough.' We must continue to put pressure on the White House and their Republican allies in Congress to do the right thing and bring our troops home to their families."

A heartfelt thank you to those who took time from their busy schedules to call their Representative. Your voice is being heard.
Sincerely,
