Niki Tsongas wins the election in Massachusetts' Fifth District!

We're thrilled to report that on Tuesday members of Massachusetts' fifth district rejected a Republican takeover of Marty Meehan's Democratic seat!

Thanks in part to your support, Niki Tsongas won yesterday's special election in Massachusetts. Thank you for your contributions!

Late last night, the final result showed Niki Tsongas the victor in a close race. She won with a 51% majority of votes, compared to Jim Ogonowski's (R) 45%. Though Ogonowski began closing the fundraising gap with Tsongas in the days before the election, a last minute boost of financial support from progressives across the country helped Tsongas stay ahead.

Niki Tsongas is a dedicated progressive, committed to ending the Iraq war, and she will be a strong advocate for sensible arms control issues. Thank you for helping bring her voice and vote to Congress!
