URGENT: Senate Set to Vote on Iraq Withdrawal!
May 15, 2007
Dear Friend,
Senator Russ Feingold (D-WI) and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) will soon introduce an amendment that would effectively end the war in Iraq. The Senate will vote on the amendment EITHER TODAY OR TOMORROW.
Your support of the Feingold-Reid amendment is urgently needed!
Please call your Senators and urge them to support the Feingold-Reid amendment! Click here to look up the phone numbers to your Senators’ office.
Short of meeting with your Senator face to face, a call to their office is the most effective way to influence their vote. A personal call is more powerful than a letter, e-mail or fax.
The Feingold-Reid amendment (No. 1098) is the strongest legislation to end the war before the Senate this year. It would mandate the beginning of redeployment of most American troops within 120 days of enactment with a mandatory date for completing the withdrawal by March 31, 2008.
The amendment would permit a small number of troops to remain for force protection, training Iraqi security forces and counterterrorism.
Recent votes in both the House and Senate have shown increasing support for legislation to end the war. We need to keep the pressure on.
Please call your Senators and urge them to support the Feingold-Reid amendment! Click here to look up the phone numbers to your Senators’ office.
Sincerely,
