Tell Democrats for Prez - No Perpetual War in Iraq

Oct 2, 2007

Dear Friend,

HIllary Clinton
Tell Hillary and the other Democratic candidates to TAKE A STAND on Iraq!

What do top Democratic presidential candidates Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, John Edwards and Barack Obama have in common with President Bush? They refuse to promise to bring all American troops out of Iraq by 2013.*(see note)

Click here to tell these candidates that it is time to bring American troops home from Iraq.

During the Democratic Presidential Debate on September 26, only Chris Dodd, Dennis Kucinich, and Bill Richardson vowed to have all U.S. troops home from Iraq before the end of 2013. Read the debate transcript here.

After four years of the Bush administration's disastrous mismanagement of the Iraq war, it is unacceptable that Democrats running for President will not commit to a prompt exit from Iraq.

When asked whether or not they would pledge to have all U.S. troops out of Iraq by the end of their first presidential term, Biden, Clinton, Edwards, and Obama refused to commit to ending the war. For Biden, "it would depend on the circumstances when I became President." Clinton said, "we do not know, walking into the White House in January of 2009 what we are gong to find." Edwards "cannot make that commitment," and Obama does "not want to make promises."

Democrats should not copy the George W. Bush plan for a permanent military occupation of Iraq. Show the Democratic candidates that we are serious about ending the war NOW. Click here to tell them that it is time to bring American troops home.

Sincerely,

John Isaacs    Guy Stevens
