One Week until Tsongas Election

We emailed you last week to tell you about an important race in Massachusetts. This critical election to replace retiring Representative Marty Meehan (D) is now only one week away. Niki Tsongas is the Democrat running for his seat.

With polls showing Tsongas with only a razor thin lead, Jim Ogonowski, the Republican candidate, is quickly closing the fundraising gap with Tsongas, who had previously been far ahead in campaign funds. The loss of this Democratic seat in liberal Massachusetts would be a huge victory for President Bush and the rest of the Republican party.
