Last push to support Skelton-Lantos!
Feb 15, 2007
Dear Friend,
Today is the last of three intense days of debate on the Skelton-Lantos resolution condemning President Bush’s escalation of the war in Iraq. Twelve Republicans have openly criticized the escalation, but as many as sixty could vote with the Democratic majority after the debate ends tonight. Your support is needed to push undecided Representatives, especially Republicans, to vote in favor of the Skelton-Lantos resolution.
Please tell your Representative to support the Skelton-Lantos resolution (H Con Res 63) opposing sending more troops to Iraq. You can call the U.S. Capitol Switchboard toll-free at 866-340-9281 and they will connect you to your Representative.
Support for the Skelton-Lantos resolution is crucial. A bipartisan repudiation of the President’s failed policies in Iraq will be an important step necessary to bring our troops home. We need the political momentum such a victory will provide to build pressure to end the war.
