Illinois, Help Get out the Vote!
Mar 4, 2008
Dear Friend,
Dear
As a resident of Illinois, you have a unique opportunity to send a clear message against a permanent U.S. presence in Iraq.
In just four days, Democrat Bill Foster and Republican Jim Oberweis will face off in a special election that has become a clear referendum on a potential long-term U.S. military presence in Iraq.
While Oberweis supports the Bush-McCain position of a U.S. military presence in Iraq for another decade, Foster believes it is time to bring our troops home. He has run TV ads opposing a permanent presence, the first in the country to do so.
If you are a voter in Illinois' 14th Congressional District, Council for a Livable World urges you to get out and vote on Saturday in this critical election.
Even if you are not a voter in this district, you can still take part in this critical election! To donate a few minutes of your time by volunteering to help Bill Foster, click here or call the Aurora office at (630) 896-2165, and ask for Emily or Marianne.
A Democratic victory in this Republican stronghold will send a clear sign that pro-war Republicans are in trouble this November.
A recent poll shows Foster with a slight lead over Oberweis, but Foster needs your help to stay ahead it in the final days before the election.
Click here or call the Aurora office at (630) 896-2165 to become a volunteer for this campaign, and remember to vote!
Sincerely,

P.S. Republicans have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars running ads attacking Foster in the last few days. If you would like to make a donation to Bill Foster's campaign, click here.
