Dear Friend,
While the next primary in the contest for the presidency is April 22 in Pennsylvania, there are also crtical Congressional races that are less visible. However, a high profile fundraising deadline for these campaigns is fast approaching.
This week, Council for a Livable World will present to you several candidates for Congress who will be needed by the next President to end the war in Iraq.
One of these candidates is Democrat Darcy Burner, running for the House of Representatives in Washington state. Burner has made the war in Iraq the centerpiece of her campaign.

Darcy recently announced her plan to safely and responsibly bring an end to the Iraq war and begin to repair the damage caused by the Bush presidency. Burner's plan is being embraced by candidates across the country as a realistic roadmap to ending this disastrous war.
As a veteran with 26 years of experience as a combat arms officer, I was pleased to help develop this plan. I urge you to support it.

On March 31st - just seven days away - Congressional campaigns must report their fundraising totals for the first quarter of 2008. These totals are considered by political experts to be a key indicator of how competitive candidates will be in the November elections. An impressive report can provide a powerful boost for Darcy's campaign.
Darcy Burner needs your help before this important fundraising deadline next Monday.

Sincerely,
Brigadier General John Johns (USA, ret.)
