After Congress’ vote last week to send President Bush another blank check to continue funding the Iraq war, it is clear that we need to turn up the heat.
That is why Council for a Livable World is working to publish this powerful ad urging Members of Congress to withdraw our troops from Iraq.
But we need your help to place this ad in a variety of publications. With enough support, we can post the ad in newspapers across the country.
Please contribute $35, $50, or more to pressure Congress to withdraw our troops from Iraq.
The U.S. invasion of Iraq has been an unmitigated disaster. Nearly 3,500 U.S. soldiers have been killed and over 25,000 more have been wounded. Estimates of Iraqi civilians killed range from 65,000 to 650,000. U.S. credibility remains disastrously low across the globe. All of this for a war that will soon have cost taxpayers over $550 billion, more than 11 times what the Bush administration said when it was trying to sell the war to the American people.
Enough is enough. It’s time to bring our troops home!
