Thank you for signing Council for a Livable World's "No Permanent Presence" statement to stop President Bush from committing U.S. troops to Iraq for generations to come. Over 8,000 other people have added their names. We need more.
Yesterday, President Bush signed a statement announcing his intention to ignore legislation passed by Congress that prohibits the U.S. from building permanent military bases in Iraq or controlling Iraqi oil resources.
President Bush continues to defy Congress and the clear will of the American people by attempting to establish an imperial U.S. presence in the Middle East.
