- Dialogue and diplomacy are the best ways to protect America’s security and are far more likely than force to produce a satisfactory resolution to this problem.
- If we have learned nothing else from Iraq, it is that there are limitations to the use of military force.
- There are no good military options for solving this problem. Military action would only result in disastrous costs and unintended consequences.
- Take the nuclear weapons option off the table. It only inflames anti-American extremism, while strengthening the hand of hardliners in Iran. It also costs us the trust of vital friends and allies.
